Birmingham Textiles Artist Makes UK’s Small
Business Saturday 100
A small textile company in Birmingham has been included among the 100 small businesses in the UK that are being featured in promotions ahead of the UK’s fi rst dedicated day focused on small businesses – Small Business Saturday – on December 7.
Penny Jane Designs produce collections of luxurious hand-felted goods and wall hangings made from soft merino wool. The wearable art pieces are a mixture of gentle pastels and bright hues to suit different moods and include a new range of ‘Nuno’ felted silk scarves. The company plans to mark Small Business Saturday by promoting the event across all its social media channels and face to face at a craft event or workshop on the dedicated day.
Championed in the UK by Chuka Umunna, the Shadow Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, and already supported by the Prime Minister, this non-political campaign will highlight small business success and encourage consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities"
